HUMAN RIGHTS IN CHINA

In this time of economic uncertainy China remains a major trading partner of the United States. This partnership continues even though the United States criticizes China for its violating the human rights of its neighbors and its own people.

Should the United States overlook these issues to further its own economic prosperity and hope that through economic ties political cultural diffusion will occur and bring freedom to China?

OR

Should the United States actively work with international organizations like the United Nations to try and force immediate change in China through formal negotiations, trade sanctions, or boycotts?
